Hello and welcome!

Apogee Inn will become a Dreamwidth-hosted solo tabletop journaling roleplay, similar to others in the medium, but with a focus on keeping online journals, rather than paper-bound ones. Every five to eight weeks, a new dungeon will be released in portions for your character to explore, face danger, gain loot, and level up. Additionally, once per month our eponymous Apogee Inn will post a DWRP-style short list of roleplay prompts, where participants can RP in the comments (or move their threads to a journal if preferred.)

This game is still in its very early stages of set-up, but if you stumble by early, feel free to subscribe and consider creating a D&D character sheet for your character. (Original characters and fandom characters will be allowed, so long as you are willing to set them up at level 1 for the purposes of this game. Real people roleplay will not be permitted unless in the context of a media adaptation.)

The city of Aphelion will be the central hub of this community. You can expect your character to take downtime activities here, and if your character is healing, practicing a skill, enchanting an item, or otherwise chilling between adventures, they will be well accommodated. Aphelion was once a hub for the world's greatest leaders in magic and technology to triumph over the chaos of the natural world. The glory days are now past, but it is still considered a city of minds, with guilds and colleges of leaders in their fields focused on teaching the next generation. Aphelion is run by a summit of these leaders, not a monarchy, though nobility from across several neighbouring regions do send their offspring for extensive training. Their support funds scholarships for the less well-connected, and pride of the city's resources also funds much of its upkeep.

Apogee Inn is actually an extensive library system, though most of it is off limits to visitors. Moreover, it's the unofficial gathering place of adventurers looking to pick up unique and challenging quests, where the goal is to bring valuables or dangerous goods back to the city for study and containment. One still makes fine coin on these adventures, but expect to get very good at deception, or else to do your civic duty to hand over any cursed swords and tomes when you return.
